The Southernhay is situated in the village of Westbourne, on the border of Poole and Bournemouth. We have a free car park for our guests and many choose to leave their car here and use the selection of bus routes which pass through Westbourne. From the end of our road, buses go to the nearby Town centres of Bournemouth and Poole, or further afield to Swanage, Weymouth and as far as Devon

The beaches in Bournemouth stretch for miles. The beach at Alum Chine is easily accessed from our hotel, by crossing the road and following the path through the 'Chines' (a wooded ravine) to the promenade. At the bottom there is a childrens play area with a splash pool open in the summer. Turning left it takes approximately 20 minutes to walk along the promenade from Alum chine beach to the pier in Bournemouth Town Centre. Alternatively, a right turn at the beach takes you past Branksome Chine and onto Sandbanks in Poole.
